Free Open Source Hosting Qualification Form
OpenHosting wholly supports the ideals and viewpoints of the Open Source movement. To qualify for free Open Source Web Hosting you must have the following qualifications:

          1) Your site must be Open Source or Open Community based.

          2) If you have Open Source content then you must have an existing web site OR you           must have functional Open Source code that needs a home on the Internet.

If you run an Open Community then you must have an existing web site in which the           community is active, or the community must be active outside the Internet in some           form.

          3) You must exhibit need. For example:
                    a) financially you cannot afford to host your site
                    b) web hosting services are not available to you in your country.
                    c) you need a competent host that isn't profit driven
                    d) etc.

Exception Clause
While many sites fall into the above categories we realize that there are many wonderful projects and communities that uphold the ideals of the Open movement that may not adhere to all of the above qualifications.

If you do not meet all of the above qualifications you may still send us an           application.

The approval of applicants is heavily based upon:
          1) the need of the applicant
          2) the overall purpose and goals of the project/community.

Please submit all "exception" based entries in a formal and professional manner. The more simplified and concise your arguments are, the easier it is for you to make your case to the OpenHosting community and staff.

If you are denied free hosting for any reason you can apply again in one month.

Selection Process
Once an application has been submitted it is reviewed by our staff. If the application is deemed incomplete we will work with you to clear up any discrepancies. After an application has been deemed complete it is voted on by all previous free hosting customers as well as the OpenHosting staff. If the site in questions receives more positive votes than negative then it will be offered free hosting.

OpenHosting may only veto a project/community if it actively violates the Terms of Service or Acceptable Use policy.

Subject to Availability
OpenHosting would love to host every site that applies for free hosting. However, we must intricately balance our resources to provide adequate services for paying and donation based customers.

In the event that we are unable to host all approved applicants we will start a queue that all approved but account-less applicants will be placed in. The applicants will be ordered according to level of need rather than the date in which they were approved.

Need More Information?
If you have read through all of the above information and still don't understand the process or can't find an answer to your question then feel free to contact us and we will address any issues.
